Back in 2012 I had an overflowing enthusiastic professor who taught us one simple-stupid trick to help us find our own voice as illustrators (or style, as some people call it).
It goes as it follows:
‘‘Everytime you come across some image that deeply attracts you, ask yourselves right away why is it that you are so seduced by it. Then make a mental small list with all the motives and keep them in mind. One’s personal style mostly hides behind profound aesthetic reactions.’’
Nowadays I’m not so sure if he said this with the poetic note I’ve imprinted in my memory. Nevertheless, you can easily consider this simple-stupid blog a series of these kind of lists.
